Unlearning White Supremacy 110

This is the second in a series of anti-racism education for anyone who wishes to heal our country, our states, our cities/towns, our neighbourhoods…

This is for those yt people who are working against their fragility. This is for my fellow yt people who wish to #BuildtheBelovedCommunity

In our last session Unlearning White Supremacy 101, we watched videos, and read articles. By now you should have a baseline understanding. Now it’s time to bring that information to others, to share your perspectives, and to enter the conversation with family and friends. In the next session we will work towards then bringing the conversation into our jobs, places of worship, and various other institutions that perpetuate white supremacy, even if they do not recognise it directly.

So my hope with this next list of resources is to get you to the point where you feel comfortable, just enough, to start this work. Yes, there are chances we could lose prestige, our privilege may be degraded, our clout may degenerate; but why? And why should we let those fears hold us back from helping our POC neighbours, friends, and family? They’ve been doing this work since they were born, it’s our turn as white people to feel uncomfortable. It’s our time to own up to the past and present. And it’s time to steep in the nuances, and realities of others less privileged than ourselves.

PREREQUISITES: Unlearning White Supremacy 101. Please begin there, and then work your way through the following.

Please NOTE: Again, this is by far not an exhaustive list. Also, not all of the provided offers a perspective that I agree with 100% but rather reflects the material that I watched and reflected upon in real time, in sequence. For better or worse these were the articles that I was exposed to and that allowed my awareness to broaden. Example: in 2. “The Lie,” after looking at it now, I do not see “All White People are racist,” as a lie. Unfortunately when discussing structural racism, children do not quite yet understand the nuances nor the complexities of racism. However, the rest of the video showcasing various other stereotypes is beautiful and encouraging.

The Longing

The Longing has always been here within me.

Perhaps so because at a young age I knew I was different, in so many other ways than just being gay. I looked within myself, and embraced the stirring of my soul.

I spoke to my Higher Self and realized I needed to go back home, to the Source from whence I came, to that vulnerable center of my heart. I looked into the mirror and saw myself as the Beloved, and continue to see myself as such. Each and every day.

So, I am returning, every day. I am returning, and stepping closer and closer to the Source from whence I came, towards that Courageous Unity of All That Is.

Can you feel it too? The Longing?

We Are Love

break free

A friend shared this with me today, and I feel not only obligated as a fellow wordpress author, but as a wandering Volunteer, peace maker, and wolf runner myself.

“We are the wanderers….

We are the Wandering souls… the Volunteers…. We are the ones who visit other stars and star systems in their hour of greatest need….

We dabble Sunshine wherever we go… and sprinkle stardust on all those whose lives we touch….

So often we end up being the Wounded Healers, for we tend to open our hearts…. We cannot bear to see other’s suffering, yet so very often end up suffering ourselves…. Yet, strangely, it through our own wounds that we heal others….

We often gaze upon this planet, in great puzzlement…. We simply cannot understand why people want to fight…. or kill each other…. When two parties fight, we tend to caught in the middle, for somehow we always seem to see both sides of the coin….

We are the Peace makers… the flower children…

We love to frolic amongst nature… at home in the veldt…. we hug trees… we treasure flowers…. we tend to take time to run barefoot in the rain and simply soak up the wonderful Art of Beingness that Nature provides in great abundant plentitude…

We love to run with wolves…. and we pick up the stray cats and dogs…. indeed, the stray people too…

We love animals with a passion and cannot bear to see injury done to them…. We tend to treat out pets as human beings and often love them more than do the two-legged ones…

We look at this whole planet and the way it is run, in great puzzlement …… We simply do not feel at home here… Deep in the very recesses of our soul, we remember other, more evolved ways of Living and the sheer Art to SHINE….

We are the Lightbearers and the Warriors of Light…. We are the Ones that stem from way before time…

We are more than we ever let on… We simply KNOW more…… Yet, seldom we share what is there with just anyone….

We are the sensitives… we FEEL… We SEE with the eyes of the VISIONARY….. We sense things…. we read the invisible language of the cosmic Masters….. We are surrended by myriad Beings of Light and Higher Hierarchy of Masters….

The world often calls us the FOOLS… the ones that simply do not fit into the norm…. Then we smile and carry on walking the Path of the Fool, for the Fool’s Path always leads to wisdom and insight…. It is the Path of Initiation into the Higher States of Consciousness…. and few have the guts to survive…..

We are the Wanderers… the Volunteers….

We are the Angels in Disguise….

We are LOVE…..

Elder’s Meditation of the Day

cirle mandala

“Life, the circle, a measurement with no beginning and no end.”
— Phillip Deere, MUSKOGEE-CREEK

The circle teaches us how the Creator made things and how to live. It teaches us how we should look at creation. Life travels in a circle. In the East is the baby, to the South is the youth, in the West is the adult and in the North is the Elder. Then we return to the Earth Mother to start the cycle again. We observe what is `around us’ from the center of the circle. This develops our point of view. We must be careful not to become self-centered.

Great Spirit, let me observe life from the circle’s point of view.

This is Why I Love Synchronicity

It had just begun to snow in Albany, so I kept my rather large alpaca shawl wrapped around myself while eating out.

Someone asked, “Is your neck cold?” With a genuine look of curiosity.

I chuckled and said, “No, I just like the warm cozy feeling.” This was followed by a rather odd look.

I said, “Do I look ridiculous?” And they responded pointly, “Yes.” To which I replied, the above with a smile.

This is why I love synchronicity.

I have been studying much about people with similar dimensions of thinking and how, energetically speaking, we influence others in our web. This can be in the dream state, or in what’s considered “normal” reality. However, this can go even further. In our physical realities, manifesting in real time.

I have had this happen many times throughout the past year or so. Several of my teachers or influencial spiritual advisors will either think or post something of similar happening around the same time as me, and vice versa.

And here we are again.

Sweet syncronocity.

Isn’t it weird? Is it a coincidence?

Isn’t it marvelous? A true act of serendipity?

The biz mama Leonie is such an inspiration and if you havn’t heard of her yet, she is a must follow.

I am finding these little moments more and more it seems, when I am in complete doubt of myself and my surroundings; when I am sitting and over analyzing myself, every little word, tone or phrase; when I self criticize…

These moments remind me that YES! I AM indeed on the right path. They remind me and seem to say, “STOP! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. WHAT IS DONE IS DONE. YOU are right where you need to be. You are a marvelous being, whether you are ridiculous or no. You are you. SHINE YOUR CRAZY ASS OFF.”

I love these moments.

How about you? Do you find yourself in similar situations?

Are you fulfilling your spiritual vocation?

What obstructions need to be cleared from your life?

What is seeking to reveal itself in your dreams?

What prejudices are you holding on to?

All of these questions cut straight yo the matter of our current lives. Everything is connected because we are more than our jobs, cars, physique, emotions, and faith.

We are beings of light. Beyond any of our identities.

We have different layers that crave to be made one. All in alignment with eachother. We have grown to realize that we cannot be healthy if our thoughts, actions, and desires are disjointed. We cannot be totally healthy by merely eating whole grain foods and fresh vegetables and fruits; while being abusive to others.

We cannot be totally healthy by merely reading self-help books while believing we are superior to other races, religions, or sexual orientations.

We cannot be totally healthy by merely doing volunteer work while we do not follow our own passions.

We cannot pick and choose based on our own ego’s greedy desires. We cannot live harmoniously by only serving our own needs while ignoring the needs and wants of others.

So, ask yourself the questions above.

Do you have some answers?

I know you know them.

Question from Caitlin Matthews’ Celtic Devotional. Practices for Samhain.

Practices for the Winter quarter of Samhain (1 Nov- 31 Jan) by Caitlin Matthews:

    • Practice introspection, meditation, contemplation, drawing upon the peaceful sanctuary of this season.
      • Shift burdens by doing something about them (e.g. make your will) or by giving up unnecessary patterns.
        • Remember your Ancestors and celebrate their wisdom.
          • In this deep season of darkness and introspection, seek the sun at midnight, the rich treasures that lie in the lap of Winter.
            • Be aware of the Ancestral Teachers, the grandparents and elders of the spiritual traditions, whose footsteps have kept the pathways open.
              • Cut back old growth in the garden and burn or compost it. Dig over the soil in preparation for the Spring.
                • Walk and meditate outdoors for at least ten minutes daily.
                  • Identify the nature of the soil and rock-forms in your locality and how this affects the life-forms who live upon the land.
                    • Be active, with like-minded others, in recording, preserving, living and learning about the ancient wisdom of indigenous peoples, especially those in your own land.
                      • As you travel through the land of Winter, relate your spiritual journey to the wisdom of this season.

                      Vision for Religions

We see a world where all religions have come together to celebrate all the different ways that lead to a true awareness of [the Universe]. We see people of all religions praying, intending, affirming, and communicating, thus, stepping into their power based, not upon fear of repercussion, but upon a knowing that what is asked for in [The Great Spirit’s] name is answered in [her] Love.

We see love replacing fear, helpfulness replacing anger, joy replacing sorrow, and a sacred reverence for the Spirit in all things replacing ignorance and indifference.

And we envision communities made up of people from all paths working for the Highest Good of the whole. And we see everyone, everywhere, truly caring about everyone else, no matter what path they are on or what religion they choose to follow.”

–The Intenders of the Highest Good; Vision Alignment Project
