HEALING TYRANNY

America’s Cry for Help

“…WE SEE THIS ROTATING DOOR OF PEOPLE SEEKING SILENCE, RELIEF, AND CATHARSIS. WE ALSO SEE THEIR NEEDS JUST BY WALKING AROUND. AS HEALERS WE NEEDN’T WAIT ANY LONGER FOR PEOPLE TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS…IN THIS DAY AND AGE, THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO ARE AFRAID, DEPRESSED, OR HEARTBROKEN. NOW IS NO TIME AS A HEALER TO HIDE…”

These be dark times healers.

Whatever your political affiliation, I am sure you can see the rampant surge of hate crimes and acts of violence filling the news.  The Trump cabinet is filling with representatives who have made it very clear their position on the environment, social sciences, education, and the health sector: all areas where many healers live, breathe, and work.  I have pondered this long and hard and see that we healers have been for a long time very wrong. For weeks now I have meditated upon the meaning of this election, is it doom or is there a silver lining? What lessons are there to find, embrace, and talk with?

As healers, let’s face it, we often are very superficial. We rarely get to the meat of an issue for several reasons. Perhaps the client does not want to dive too deep. Or they begin to and then cancel their next session, and we all know what happens after that: they never come back. Retention in any field is difficult, and when ours is a profession of the deep stuff, when our job is to be the mirror for people so that they may heal and not merely place a Band-Aid on the situation. It can get very annoying after a while. And yet, we see this rotating door of people seeking silence, relief, and catharsis. We also see their needs just by walking around. As healers we needn’t wait any longer for people to make appointments, especially when you learn the techniques of Gyoshi Ho and Koki Ho.  In this day and age, there are so many people out there who are afraid, depressed, or heartbroken. Now is no time as a healer to hide in our healing rooms.

Now is the time to act, and utilize the Gokai of Kindness in our everyday lives. There is no time like the time of tyranny for a healer to hear the call of humanity. There are so many marginalized people who are taken advantage of, who have for centuries been oppressed, beaten, and manipulated. As healers, our job is to heal on a holistic field, and if we ourselves are not staying aware, if we ourselves are not being mindful of these issues; our clients and our higher selves are doomed. If we fail now, we fail so much more than just ourselves. All the lifetimes of karma that have gotten us to this moment, this life where we have taken the role of healers, and now what do we do with it? Hide, keep our heads in the sand and “let go and let god?” No. That in my opinion is the ultimate abuse of privilege. Our duty is to grow, to help others “sit with their yuck.” To transmute, and transform situations. To mold and yes manipulate energies for the betterment of not only a few, but for all sentient beings. The world is crying- this is no time to wall oneself off. It is a time to be the one to break down Byoki boundaries, not create new ones.

Peace and healing are not static energies, they are a force, so it our prerogative to share that peace, and be that peace we wish to see in the world. We are the healers, and leaders of our communities. They look to us for support, guidance, and strength. I believe firmly that now is no time to play or think small. The mighty oak cannot forever remain a sapling. So use your skills and power. Be the healer I know you to be! With tact, with diligence, and of course with compassion.  We are the defenders and protectors of old, and no tyrant or bigot will harm our friends and family.

Heiwa beloveds.

Expanding Your Happiness Day 17: Being of Service

expandinghappiness17

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” —Maya Angelou

Today in meditation we activate the sense of service. But instead of approaching service in the conventional sense, as a sort of obligation, we will look at it from the perspective of higher states of consciousness. In this view, service is not only a humanitarian effort, it is a path of joy and self-realization. It is an opportunity to grow in happiness, not a duty.

Service is listening and acting in response to a call for the unique gifts your life offers. This call is not based on your ego needs, nor does it come from social expectations. The call to service comes from your universal self, the cosmic part of you that directs your spiritual evolution or dharma. This is why being of service to the world is really a joyful expansion of the self.

Today’s meditation brings our awareness in accord to this vision of service.

Our centering thought for today is:

My soul expands when I help others.

Our Sanskrit mantra for today is:

“Seva Hum.” I am service.

“How can I be of service? We are all here to share our unique gifts with the world. That is why we are here, that is the Source of the richest happiness we can experience, and when we share those gifts with love, effortlessly and joyfully, the world rises up to meet us. Inevitably we receive so much more than we give. Gandhi said it best, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” That, I know for sure, is one of the secrets of soul expanding happiness. Open yourself to giving from the heart, and listen to the ways of being of service.” ~ Oprah

Today’s Notes

Seva is the Sanskrit word for service. Seva is action performed for the sake of others, but more specifically it is action that is not motivated by individual desire. Instead, it is action prompted by the impulse of spiritual growth and freedom. This is why wisdom traditions extol service as a path to enlightenment. Seva hum stirs this selfless impulse and instills the joy of helping others as its own reward.

When you are living the happiness that comes from your being, serving others isn’t an obligation. It’s not about being a better person or raising your image in the eyes of others. Something deeper happens because in serving others, at the soul level, you are serving yourself. This isn’t a mystical experience. Parents already know how their children feel by being extensions of themselves.

There is a complete merging in two lovers that defines romantic love. When those around us become a real extension of our larger self, the pursuit of happiness builds beyond the boundary of the ego.

Take this merge in to its ultimate and you will arrive to unity consciousness where you perceive no division between you and anything you perceive. When Jehovah speaks from the burning bush to Moses, the words are a pure reflection of unity consciousness. “I am that I am.”

Service implies action, which is why one of the traditional paths to enlightenment in India is known as karma my yoga, meaning the unity that comes out of right action.  Giving a pan handler a quarter so he will quite bothering you isn’t karma yoga because you don’t actually feel joyful in your gift and you aren’t blessing the person you give to.  You step onto the karma path when ever you give in the spirit of  freeing someone else from care or want while at the same time your action brings you bliss.

Consider today’s centering thought, “my soul expands when I help others.”

Now lets prepare for meditation. Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Begin to become aware of your breath slowly and deeply. Gently introduce today’s mantra, “Seva Hum.” Repeat it silently to yourself and allow your body, mind, and spirit open and receive just a little bit more.

My Thoughts & Experience

5842467011_a25ed7c5c3_b

Lately, I have been really thinking about my level of outreach in the community. And this meditation really got my spirit moving around. I need to start offering my services in different places. Places where both I and other people will be able to benefit. Where I will be able to either volunteer or get paid for my time and effort.

There are so many wonderful organizations in the area. It is time, now that I am updating my resume, to allow my spirit to open by helping others on a larger scale, which can benefit my business because, well, this is my profession. This is what I do. But I have gotten so used to living from pay check to pay check and offering things for free that I have forgotten to really take care of myself as well. There is a balance that must be done by helping others, because yes it is good to be of service, but not at the expense of not being able to provide for myself.

I have given so much up, and without thinking about it. I guess I really have got the service bit down, it’s just I need to perhaps focus more on being of service to myself sometimes too.

It’s a funny business isn’t it? This helping of others. We always forget to help ourselves.

Reclaiming the Sacred Project

415301425_6bd38e74b2_b

What does it mean to reclaim?

First, it implies that something has been lost or taken away. In my opinion, there are many things in our communities and countries; in our waters, in the air and soil that have been stripped bare and have been taken advantage of.

To reclaim can mean to:

  1. retrieve or recover (something previously lost, given, or paid); obtain the return of.
  2. redeem (someone) from a state of vice; reform.
  3. bring (waste land or land formerly under water) under cultivation
  4. recover (material) for reuse; recycle

It is ironic that many of these meanings derive their meaning from nature, which is where I am going with this project.

Part of my Usui Reiki Master Teacher training is to preform attunements on people, plants, animals, sacred spaces, and sacred objects. I was encouraged to apply different attunement methods in various situations, and I was inspired to begin this project.

This peaked my interest – the concept of blessing the sacred.

However, it seems that there are many people out there who have lost the sacred. I was confronted by it head-on when many of my favourite hiking trails, which is where I encounter the sacred, littered repeatedly even though I and many others pick it up. I will find car tires, cigarette butts, broken beer bottles…

6106138024_75a60e92dd_b

I have always been quite the environmentalist and eco-warrior activist. So, it seems that now as a Reiki Master, my commitment to healing has been not only acerbated, but been forced to be a tad bit creative.

Reiki Masters ideally have a commitment to healing and achieving their own potential, and a strong desire to help others achieve theirs. Being a Reiki Master is not so much a job as it is a mission in which you become your authentic self and then support others in discovering and becoming their authentic selves. One of the central functions of a Reiki Master is performing ritual and teaching others about how to live in harmony with the Universe and their own inner nature.

A space can be attuned to the symbols and further opened to subtle energies, creating a
sacred space. The energies in attuned spaces become more coherent and then entrain the
energies of all within and all that should enter such spaces. As in all forms of energy
work, an elevated and loving consciousness and positive intent are key requirements for
optimal sacred space attunements.

William A. Tiller, Professor Emeritus of Stanford University’s Department of Materials
Science, has done extensive research into conscious acts of creation and has synthesized
several key factors regarding opening the heart and eliciting the unseen powers of the
universe (IONS 44). Tiller writes, “It is the practitioner’s love, compassion, devotion to
service and intent that can elicit the ‘unseen’ assistance of the universe to co-raise the Gauge symmetry of the intervening space, allowing the intention to be more fully
empowered” (Tiller 17).

4244061036_03d92d8217_b

Objects can be attuned as well greatly enhancing their energy conduction and
amplification properties. Such attuned objects become dedicated to the Light that
cleanses, protects, and heals, and thus better serve when used for such purposes. As the
sacred objects become more coherent in their energies, they also entrain the energies of
other organisms and objects. These objects can be big or small, from a single grain of sand to a fully formed crystal cluster.

In addition to the process and ritual of blessing the sacred via Reiki, I was reminded by a group of Thai Ecology Monks who are attempting to stop deforestation by defending the trees by ordaining them.

Tree ordination is a ceremony initiated by Ecology Monks (Phra Nak Anuraksa), a group of Thai Buddhist Monks which has also practice by the Cambodian, Vietnam and Burmese Buddhist monks three decades ago.
The original idea behind the tradition is to use the widely respected symbol of monastic robes to make loggers hesitate to cut down trees. It is a combination of bringing the pre-Buddhist values of spirit worshiping and the Buddhist values of respecting the nature and the political messaging of saving the forests and trees from destructive development.

Sri Lankan Buddhist monks and environmentalist ordained the giant “Dun” tree in Baduraliya-Kukulegama road in 1997 and Red sandalwood tree in 2008 which were under threat of cutting down for road expansion. Both trees still remain untouched as people believe it as wrong to cut down ordained trees.

It provides a solution for widespread and rapid deforestation. “Ordaining” a tree is known as a provocative ritual which is a symbolic yet an influential monastic movement aimed at reversing environmental degradation and unsustainable economic development and consumerism that fuel it.

269755009_2f18dad448_b

All of this has inspired me to begin a project to attune trees in order to bring awareness of their innate sacredness. My hope is that with this, people will be less likely to litter, and treat the lands as they are: as sacred ground for all to enjoy but not to pollute.

By blessing trees, and marking them as such, my hope is that people will be less likely to pollute, and take stock of how their actions impact the environment, and paradoxically their and their loved one’s lives.

Now more than ever, we have the ability to reclaim the sacred and respect the Earth as our home, and not as our dump.

I will take this even further by attuning stone cairns on top of mountains, attuning gardens, and even trees in your own backyard. It won’t always be so dramatic, there really is no point in tee-peeing forests with prayer flags… but, there are ways to evoke the sacred without taking away from the natural beauty. Less is sometimes more. The sacred is all around us, it is all around you. By attuning and marking a tree in your own yard, you create a living altar to what you stand for; and you also create a sacred space where you can go and receive guidance, inspiration, and unconditional love. All things we can never get enough of.

“Like” to Invite Sweetness into Your Life: A Full Moon Reiki Meditation

creative commons sugar bush

“It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.”
― Chuck Palahniuk, Diary

Saturday night will be my next FREE Full Moon Reiki Meditation at 11pm EST.

As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter.” – The Farmer’s Almanac

I like to call this full moon The Spring Maple Moon.

Growing up in the upper Adirondack mountains, my father would often bring my sister and I to our cousin’s Sugar Bush, which is where 100% Pure Maple Syrup is collected, heated and even sampled sometimes with a bit of fresh fallen snow. There are so many happy memories in those woods where we would ride the snowmobiles, walk over icy brooks that were beginning to thaw. When we would bundle up and play all day in the snow…

This will be an excellent night for really asking how can tap into your childish enthusiasms and how you can share your  own inner sweetness with your Self & others? Self discovery is essential to a balanced and healthy holistic lifestyle.

As I like to say, “In order to live happy and healthy lives we need to have a happy and healthy relationship with our past, especially with our childhoods. If we can look back at the fond moments, the moments that truly matter; then the trauma, the abuse, and the struggle of childhood can be looked at with more compassionate eyes. Our inner child is set free. If it is allowed to feel what it will in those moments of happiness, it can finally come out of the dark corners of our psyches. By doing so we allow our inner sweetness and goodwill to shine like how the sun can melt snow and like how sap flows from trees in order for sweetness to manifest.”

So, why not get in touch with your inner workings a bit more; find spiritual, emotional, and mental clarity so that you can manifest harmony and warmth of spirit?

creative commons full moon march

So, Happy Full Moon in Virgo friends!

By using the Maple Tree as an example,  we will focus on how we too can tap into our reserves of sweetness in order to open untold doors of happiness & health.

Join us from the comfort of wherever you will be at the time. Whether you’re awake, out socializing, working, or even at home in bed; you can attend in spirit by just taking a moment to ponder the following. No one has to meditate. Simply sitting and taking a reflective moment is all that is needed.

What is Reiki? Whenever someone asks what I do, and I tell them that I am a Reiki Practitioner, I often get an odd look of curiosity. I always begin by quoting Usui Sensei, “Reiki is the secret art of inviting happiness into your life.” Reiki is a Japanese method very similar to massage, except your clothes stay on. The point is to facilitate a relaxing atmosphere and environment so that the body can naturally heal itself of physical, emotional, mental, sexual and spiritual pain. It works great for aches and pains, grief and heartbreak, as well as when you lose your faith in yourself. It empowers people and helps to deal with trauma, abuse, and depression. I even use it to help with my patients management who have PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and even PMS. (This normally gets a chuckle). Simply put, Reiki allows you take time for yourself, for peace, for harmony, and for your health. It isn’t a cure, but it does help to heal issues at their core in conjunction with other medical therapies.

creative commons reiki hands

I will be offering and sending this unconditional healing energy to anyone who wishes to participate. By liking this post, or joining this event, I am taking that as an affirmative. A simple “Yes” or “No” will be fine. Whether or not you physically attend or meditate on your own is up to you. The energy will be sent regardless, and it will go where it is most needed to each person.  I send Reiki with a clear intention that it will only be received with free will and if it is refused will be redirected to the Earth or another person who needs and wants it.

Will you be calling it an early night, and will already be in bed? No worries. When we are asleep we are perfect channelers of Reiki energy. If you wish, you can say the blessing below before bed to welcome the harmony that will be sent to you.

Again, my intention for Saturday night will be to focus on our ability to create sweetness in our lives.

“Everyone carries an atmosphere about him. It may be healthful and invigorating, or it may be unwholesome and depressing. It may make a little spot of the world a sweeter, better, safer place to live in; or it may make it harder for those to live worthily and beautifully who dwell within its circle.”
― J.R. Miller

We will also focus on all those seeds that we planted during the last New Moon. This will be an excellent time for you to meditate and answer some of the questions we posed a few weeks ago. How have you tended your inner heart’s garden? Have you become more considerate of your actions towards others and your Self? Have you begun to shun negative self-talk? Do you find yourself being more grateful for the people in your life?

creative commons tree buds

Our intention/mantra/prayer will be:

It is a good idea to place your hands over your heart chakra, Anahata, as you say the following blessing, light a candle if you wish, and either just sit, or meditate if you’re awake. If asleep, you may say it prior to bed if you wish. Again, when we are asleep we are in an excellent state for healing. It is one of the few times our subconscious can consciously speak to us because we are in an altered state of consciousness. Take note of your dreams the next morning, perhaps you will get a message for an area in your life to focus on and heal. Always feel free to message me privately if you have questions. Namaste~ We are all one after all.

“Thank-you for sending Sweetness for the greatest good of everyone gathered tonight.
Thank-you for sending Sweetness for the greatest good of all who could not make it for this healing.
Thank-you for sending Sweetness for the greatest good of (our/my) home, community, and planet.

May my words be filled with sweetness.
May my thoughts be filled with sweetness.
May my actions be filled with sweetness.

May I acknowledge my past heart breaks and let them go with a warm hug.
May I acknowledge my current heart’s condition and let it be.
May I acknowledge my future heart’s wholeness with a smile.

As the moon softens, may my pain and suffering be released as the moon darkens and darkens.
As the moon softens, may my mind draw upon the peaceful sanctuary of this season, as the moon darkens and darkens.
As the moon softens, may my soul be nurtured with self-love and self-acceptance, as the moon darkens and darkens.

As I begin to travel in the land of Spring, may I relate my journey to the wisdom of this season.
May my spirit soften at the wonder of this night.
May my life flow like warm sap and nourish my Spirit.
Happy Full Moon.
Namaste. Thank-you. Thank-you. Thank-you.”

Just allow the energy to flow for a few minutes until it seems like you have met your mark. Bathe yourself in sweet moon beams as you drift away to sleep.

Now, as participants, if you wish to step it further, you can become a better conduit for this energy by sinking into meditation with me at the same time.

I will be performing the Reiki healing tomorrow, SATURDAY March 15th AT 11PM EST. for about 30-60 minutes.

If you wish, get comfortable, light some candles/incense, put your choice of music on, and meditate with me.

creative common sugar bush

You may even wish to make some hot chocolate or tea, light some candles/turn on your music, and just sit.

***Perhaps for this special night you could take a warmed shot of 100% Pure Maple Syrup!

If you will already be in bed asleep, which is a great state of mind to be in when receiving healing, print out and say the intention above. Or you could even say one of your own making.

I am really very excited about this, and I welcome who ever is interested!

Let’s take some time for ourselves, and meditate together. (Just be sure to correlate with your time zone.)

If you run late by accident, don’t feel guilty. You can enter at any time and leave at any time.

The key is to allow yourself the time to heal. You may even wish to stay longer than the 30 minutes.

I will be gifting the Reiki for approximately 1 hour.

See you all tomorrow under the liminal moon light.

Namaste~ We are all one after all.

Love Letter Project 2014

creative commons love

Last year, a very good friend of mine, set out to distribute several hand-made valentines around town.

He carefully selected quotes and broke out the art supplies.

This year, I am working with him to make it into an even bigger project!

The plan is to mail or deliver Love Letters to all who wish to receive one. All you have to do is send a private message with your address via Facebook, or Email. (derek AT completehealthcircle DOT com)

Over the next two-four weeks we will be mailing letters we have written and will continue to send them off as soon as they are finished.

In my opinion, it is a little bit of happy that everyone deserves!

Everyone deserves a valentine. Everyone deserves to be told that they are loved and lovable.

Because it is the truth. There is a beauty in every person’s heart. Sometimes opening up to that beauty can be a challenge, but it remains there just the same.

See your own heart, in all its unique brilliance. This is your source of your creation. If you listen closely, you will always hear your heart’s inner voice. Don’t confuse this voice with the voice of ego, however. Within your heart, within your capacity to give and receive love is where we are at one with all other living things in the universe. And it is also where all healing begins.

creative commons envelopes

Each letter will be written in a way that is both inspirational and motivational. Each card will be a unique piece of artwork and prose.

Meditate and reflect on your card when you receive it and notice what, if any, heartstrings are pulled. These letters will be powerful tools for self-esteem, self-acceptance, and of course, unconditional love.

If you give yourself five to ten minutes a day just to focus on the concept of loving your Self, you will be able to attract even more love into your life, because a mere act of self indulgence and nurture releases a changed vibration. This I promise, your life will change. You will begin a conscious path of new beginnings and emotions in your life that will take you to places that you have always wanted to visit but couldn’t. You will become aware that there are wonderful people in this world, who are genuine. Who are kind. Who are sweet. Who are truly beautiful souls. You may experience great wholeness, but we must first start somewhere, and that sometime is today. You will also release issues that you have avoided facing, in your life, and by beginning this process, you will begin to created the things that you desire in your life.

Law of Attraction, it’s that simple. Like attracts like.

If we are lonely and seek only a codependent relationship, that is what pets are for. They offer great unconditional healing love. However, codependence has no place in a long-lasting and loving relationship.

By opening yourself up to this different concept of self-love, you will allow the love, truth, and courage within in you to come forward. All of this will begin to manifest and impact your day to day life. You’ll start to focus on the positives, rather than the negatives. You’ll create this bubble of self perpetuating desire and passion for life that will be inescapable. This is the essential process in healing. By opening up, and welcoming it with open arms, the healing energy, the Reiki, automatically flows through all of the dimensions of our creative energies and begin the healing process in ourselves and those around us, who will be more apt to open as well.

We’ve all felt it from someone before, that uncontrollable urge to be swept up in their arms, whether they were grandparents or a new lover. Love is visceral, and it can be felt for miles away. It is addicting this feeling of calm, relaxed, safe security. But how can we be sure which you are feeling, Lust? Or Love? You can tell, when you really open your heart to the matter and ask the necessary questions. It will always be honest. It will never lie. Yes or no questions are better left unasked: they are far too easy to manipulate when hormones are in the mix. But I will tell you this:

Every card, each letter, will be infused with creative unconditional Love.

When you open that envelope, you will feel oneness with creation, and your heart will swoon with undeniable Love, and Light, and Peace.

Namaste.

Why not welcome in some real mail for a change?

creative commons mailboxes

Here is a sample:

Beloved, from the moment I saw you,
I saw beyond the suit and tie.
I saw your smiling spirit, embracing mine.
I saw your shining heart, embracing mine…
And I saw your strong hand, embracing mine.
In that moment, I knew –
That I wanted to share my All with You.
You are the wind that whispers in my ear.
I am loved and lovable.
You are loved and lovable.
Together, we shall create
A more loving world.
– This I know in my deepest Deep.

“Like” To Invite Health & Healing Into Our Natural Waters: A New Moon Reiki Meditation

frozen ice and water

What is Reiki? Reiki is Responsibility. It is fluid. It moves wherever it is most needed at the time…

Reiki has been practiced by many cultures around the world since the invention of human compassion. To learn more about Reiki look around my site and research around the rest of the web. (I have written several posts and shared many academic journals.) My point here I wish to now make is this: Reiki can be used for so many things. It can be used to heal, to mend broken bones, broken hearts, and broken spirits. It raises your consciousness and your ability to empathize with the rest of the world. Above all, Reiki, or universal life force energy is all around us. It is was what holds our atoms together and it is what connects all of us. You may know it as a different name, but the purpose and the intention is pure nonetheless.

Our focus for this meditation will be to heal both our inner and outer waters.

Both the physical lakes, rivers, and oceans and our inner emotional turmoils.

The planet right now is in an emotional flux. Oceans are being polluted with radiation and sonar weapon warfare.

Sharks are being hunted purely for their fins and being thrown back into the ocean. Rivers and water supplies are being polluted from fracking conquests. There is an island of trash in the Pacific. There is still an incredible drought in California. There is still so much to be done by way of healthy self-expression of human personality. Abuse, mental illness, low self-esteem and poor relationship development due to closed-mindedness and desensitization to violence, which still persists in our culture.

So, Thursday night, 30th January 2014, is the New Moon in Aquarius, the water bearer. Do you see the theme? We will be meditating for inner and outer harmony in our minds, bodies, souls, and our planet.

If you would like to participate, simply, “LIKE,” this post prior to 11pm EST on 30-1-2014 and I will add you to the pot. We will be using synchronized meditation as well as a Reiki box for those far and wide.

creative commons hand in water

I would also like to note, if you are a Reiki Practitioner yourself, please feel free to take part in your area and connect with me at the time. My contact information is above. The more people we can collectively help, the better, and the more people involved the higher the intention for change.

With this cycle I wanted to add a bit of imagery in the form of a card (see below) for those of you who find it either difficult or intimidating to meditate. Anyone can meditate. All it takes is time. If anything else, it has been scientifically proven to increase people’s states of mind and increases mental faculties. A majour part meditation is not so much to turn off the brain, actually, it is about allowing the brain to do what it will, being kind to yourself, and just giving yourself that time to let go and relax.

I will also, again, be sending much needed energy to our brothers and sisters around the world who have suffered and continue to suffer at great length. This also includes our animal, plant, and mineral brothers and sisters. If you have any special requests for any loved ones, please also feel free to comment, but you can do this yourself by focusing on them while you participate. Regardless if you can or can’t, I will be sending to who ever asks for the gift of blessings. No one will be turned away.

I would also entertain any prayers or blessings for the Earth and her healing at this time as well.

I would also like to entertain any prayers or blessings for all who have died or were born this year.

Let us shine our love and support during this New Moon for those who most need it. Let us pray for the renewal of hearts, prosperity and health in the year to come.

We are walking our Winter into Spring journeys in the northern hemisphere, and our Summer into Autumn journeys in the southern hemisphere. As we look towards a new year of immense potential let us all come together to change what needs to be changed.

As we prepare to meditate under a sky filled with stars, let us set the intention to gently acknowledge and release to spirit all thoughts and feelings about our perceived challenges and adversities that do not serve us.

And let’s fill our Selves with infinite love, light, and joy.

As we step into this acceptance and find our resilience, we open to prosperity and our infinite potential.

And isn’t that the truest truth my friends? Thoughts are incredible powerful things. By shifting our thoughts and perceptions, we can open ourselves up to what is really happening. To new possibilities, projects, and the next phase along our spiritual path.

New possibilities are just around the corner.

creative commons polluted waters

The New Moon is all about planting new seeds, even in the dead of winter. Eventually the rains will come, and with it roots will take their fill, gardens will smile, and the ground will moan with relief.

Eventually, people will realize we cannot keep polluting our water supply, with sewage, toxins, trash, and radiation.

The New Moon is an excellent time for you to meditate and answer some questions. You may wish to pick a tarot card for added insight, or simply ask yourself some of the following questions.

Some of the following questions are from Joanna Powell Colbert’s New Moon Spread

  1. How can I best seed the energy of this new moon to bring me into deeper personal wisdom?
  2. How can I best seed the energy of this new moon in communication, thought, information, intention, meditation?
  3. How can I best seed the energy of this new moon in passion, creativity, energy, sexuality, personal power?
  4. How can I best seed the energy of this new moon in emotions, intuition, dreams, sensuality, compassion?
  5. How can I best seed the energy of this new moon in stability, security, health, finances, manifestation?
  6. How can I best seed the energy of this new moon in my connection to Source, to the Universe, to the All that is?

  12. How can I best seed the energy of this new moon in my environment?

Check in on your answers each week to see how this new moon energy will manifest during the month from New to Full Moon. Do a little journal-writing, even if it’s just notes, once a week. See how it blossoms at he full moon and releases its seeds for the next cycle during the waning moon, turning into compost at the dark.

If you don’t wish to pick tarot cards for each question, you may wish to use the imagery of the card below.

gaian guardian of water big

The Guardian of Water is all about having a harmonious environment and teaches us to cleanse and refresh ourselves, as well as how to embrace boundless compassion for ourselves and all other creatures. The Guardian of Water also teaches us how to be more environmentally aware, and how our actions impact our waters, both our inner emotional waters as well as our planetary waters.

The Guardian of Water is calling us to open our hearts to compassion, intuition and deep love. As if swimming in the waters of mercy, she overflows with forgiveness, peace and cleansing for a troubled world. Pour it out for me is her siren song. A school of fish swirls all about her, as if they were her children or her students, seeking comfort and closeness as they explore their world. The spiral koru necklace, echoed in the shape of the shell, signifies unfurling, opening, renewal. She guards and nurtures the qualities of intense emotions, dreams and healing. Her ally is Sea Turtle, who offers the gifts of good luck, peace, longevity and the ability to find the way home. These are Kwan Yin’s waters of mercy, poured out upon a troubled world.” -Joanna Powell Colbert

If this resonates with you, then perhaps using a glass of water, or Kwan Yin statue/image during our Reiki meditation will be a benefit to you. You could even order a copy of the above Guardian from Joanna’s website.

Some other good New Moon questions the Guardian asks us to ask our Selves:

  • Am I having difficulty with personal troubles spilling into those of others?
  • How can I be wary of people or situations that are overly needy or draining?
  • Am I wallowing in my emotions?
  • What have I done to perpetuate my own inner drought?
  • How may I seek the patient, cleansing, forgiving powers of water, so that emotional balance may be restored?
  • How can I trust the waters of love and compassion flowing from my heart?
  • Do I have a spiritual practice that helps me navigate my inner waters and emotions?
  • Do I have a physical practice that helps me navigate my inner waters and emotions?
  • Do I have a sexual practice that helps me navigate my inner waters and emotions?
  • Do I have a environmental practice that helps me navigate my inner waters and emotions?
  • Do I have an emotional practice that helps me navigate my inner waters and emotions?
  • Do I have a mental practice that helps me navigate my inner waters and emotions?
  • What are my beliefs around environmentalism and healing?
  • What can I control in my present situation, and what is beyond my control?
  • What kind of healing does the Guardian of Water offer me?
  • What kind of healing can I offer the Earth through the example of the Guardian of Water?

There is nothing wrong with fearing change. With fear comes strength, and if transmuted becomes great courage. With every new beginning, with every new cycle of the sun, moon, or fiscal year, there are things that ultimately must be let go and discarded and hopefully composted for future growth. Just because something may be done and over with, does not mean that life ceases to exist. We carry on. We live on. We breathe on. Our hearts continue to beat even if they seem broken. Our bodies still move even if they are stiff. Our spirits still soar in our dreams.

The new moon offers us a great gift: transformation.

What will transform in your life this new moon? Take the time. Visualize your future the way you want it to be, and take the necessary steps towards greater health of mind, body, and spirit.

And with that, here is our intention, blessing, prayer (whatever you want to call it) for the New Moon meditation.

Feel free to print it out or write it down and repeat it to yourself before bed the night of the meditation.

“Thank-you for sending Reiki energy for the greatest good of everyone gathered for this healing.
Thank-you for sending Reiki energy for the greatest good of everyone unable to gather for this healing.
Thank-you for sending Reiki energy for the greatest good of the Earth for this healing.

May I receive the necessary healing I need for a harmonious mind, body, and spirit.
May I continue to tend hope in my heart.
May I continue to see the beautiful potential for happiness all around me.

May I seed this new moon energy for … (fill in the blank with your personal request)
May the seeds that I plant tonight be tended by the Universe.

May the land’s thirsts be quenched and filled for all creatures to benefit.
May the land’s purity be regained and protected.
May the rains fall and my inner waters flow freely.
May the rivers, lakes and streams also flow with love.
May the world’s waters learn to forgive us as we must forgive ourselves.

As the moon grows, may my body’s health improve as the moon brightens and brightens.
As the moon grows, may my mind draw upon the peaceful sanctuary of this season, as the moon brightens and brightens.
As the moon grows, may my soul be nurtured with self-love and self-acceptance, as the moon brightens and brightens.

As I travel through the land of Winter’s ending, may I relate my journey to the wisdom of this season.
As I travel through the land of Rain’s return, may I relate my journey to the wisdom of this
Namaste. We are all one. By healing myself I can help to heal others including the planet.

Just allow the energy to flow for a few minutes until it seems like you have met your mark. Bathe yourself in sweet starlight as you drift away to sleep.

If you wish, get comfortable, light some candles/incense, put your choice of music on, (like the music below) dance and meditate with me. Or, if you will already be in bed asleep, which is a great state of mind to be in when receiving healing, print out and say the intention above. Or you could even say one of your own making.

Let us all welcome back the rain.

Let us all heal our Earth’s inner and outer waters.

Namaste.
