Expanding Your Happiness Day 2: Feeling Inspired

“Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough.” —Emily Dickinson

“Today in meditation, we connect with our inner being, the source of all inspiration, creativity, insight and joy. In opening our hearts and minds to pure spirit, we allow ourselves to take it in to recreate and to renew ourselves. Inspiration is not only for artists and visionaries, we all benefit when our lives are refreshed and revitalized with spirit every day.

Meditation opens us to infinite possibilities and allows us to remake ourselves anew each time we sit in silence. To feel inspired is to step into the present experience unfettered by past disappointments and future fears. You are free to participate in the creative joy of life in the moment.”

Our centering thought for today is:

I am filled with spirit.

Our Sanskrit mantra for today is:

“Shum.” I am inspired.

“Why wait for happiness to come to us in the form of people, places, or things? These moments are wonderful, but you can reach a bigger sense of happiness when you allow an openness to all that is in you and all around you. You can BE happiness itself inspired even by the tiniest moments when you shift the way in which you feel your own essence. What is that bigger deeper essence? It is a sense that arrives from within you. A sustained sense of well being and internal peace that allows you to open up to new possibilities fueled by a connection to what really matters. Feel that essence rise through you. It’s your internal vision, your own sweet spirit whispering through your life with guidance and grace. hear it and you will know happiness.” ~Oprah

Inspiration: what does it mean to you?

Happiness and inspiration

To be inspired means you are being filled with spirit. You are spirited. Every breath you take, every inhale draws more spirit, more energy, more awareness, more life force energy into yourself.

It is not only a gift to those we see as “artistic.”

Welcome inspiration. Let it flow. Make the step towards expanded happiness.

Opening and receiving go hand in hand. Don’t be afraid to be open. To be vulnerable. The unknown doesn’t have to be so scary. It isn’t something that should be feared, because it is a spiritual truth that we endlessly renew ourselves with inspiration.

The wisdom of uncertainty can be a source of innocent joy and happiness.

You are filled with spirit. Believe it. Repeat it. Trust in it.

Meditate.

Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes.

Begin to be aware of your breath and breathe slowly and deeply.

With each breathe allow yourself to be more deeply relaxed.

Introduce today’s mantra, “Sham.”

This will help you receive spiritual inspiration.

Visualize yourself opening up to your natural state of inspiration. Repeat it silently to yourself and allow yourself to welcome in spirit from a safe and grounded space.

With this meditation, I was overwhelmed and experienced such incredible happiness!

It was as if the Muses were in the room, I had continuous goose-flesh, so much so that the dog started to swirl around the room (we have a Scottish Gordon Setter) and once I was full of laughter and tears were streaming down my face, he began to bark and swirl at the same time, which led to of course even more laughter! The energy in the room was palpable, although the cats seemed unfazed as per the norm.

I truly feel inspired, and continue to feel inspired. I know that I have these resources at my disposal. I know that I am spirit, that I am spirited, that I am indeed INSPIRED.

What were your experiences with this meditation?

Namaste~
