Finding Your Flow Day 14: Activating Consciousness

Journal: Sunday. April 27th 2014. Albany, NY. Sahasrara. सहस्रार. Crown Chakra.
Centering thought: “My life energy radiates the light of Being..” || Mantra: Om Katyayani Namah. “I activate my pure awareness.”

Sunday, we were asked to stay in the flow of awareness for a moment of gratitude just for being alive. Deepak told us to close our eyes and take a breathe then open them. Let the experience of thinking, saying, and doing nothing sink in. When you’re just being, you are expressing your true self. “Learning how to rest into existence, and learning how to let go of stress opens the way for grace and knowing that being here is enough.”

This meditation is dedicated to aligning with our natural and divine consciousness by activating the energy of the seventh chakra. We learn that enlightenment is not out of reach. By cultivating self-awareness and presence during everyday moments, we experience true wakefulness—we are fully alive in the moment. To experience this awakening, it’s not necessary to radically restructure your life. These moments of presence are available in every breath we take . . . they are there in the gap between every thought we have.

When we are truly conscious, we may experience moments when our pure self shines through and suddenly life flows smoothly, sweetly, and peacefully. Our complete spiritual awakening consists of these moments aggregating and expanding into periods of time, and then into longer stretches of time, until awareness becomes a continuum of “now” consciousness, 24 hours a day. Today’s lesson on enlightenment shows us that we don’t need to struggle to get there. It is enough to simply be aware and be present. Nature takes care of the details.

Sabrina Reber writes, “The Crown Chakra carries the energies of Enlightenment, Divine Illumination and God Realization. It is located on the top of the head and is the source of our higher consciousness. When fully opened, the Crown Chakra becomes the conduit through which our Holy Spirit, God Self, Christed Self, Buddhic Self or Divine Essence is brought down into our physical being.”

The Crown Chakra is often called the thousand petal lotus. Throughout history it has been depicted in paintings of Jesus the Christ, Buddha, Saints, Angels and other highly evolved beings as a golden white halo around their heads. When the Crown Chakra is fully opened an awareness of our divinity and the true essence of our being is understood and integrated. The crown chakra will not fully open until all seven of the chakras and corresponding energy fields have been purified enough for divine energy to be released activating the Kundalini. The Kundalini is a divine spiral of energy similar to a coiled snake that lays dormant at the base of each person’s spine (root chakra) until proper purification has occurred within a beings system for it to safely ascend up the chakra column. The crown chakra connects us to our masculine Father God while the root chakra connects us to our feminine Mother Goddess or Mother Earth. If the kundalini is able to move through each chakra and does not encounter any blocks it will move up into the crown chakra opening a pathway for each persons God self to descend into their physical body. Kundalini is Creator energy. It is our divine birthright to activate this part of ourselves so we can become conscious co-creators here on Earth. When our system is properly prepared, the descension of our God self washes over each of the seven chakras breaking the seven seals activating the creation of our divine luminous light body. This prepares us to move forward into Self Mastery where we have the potential to fully activate and embody our Holy Grail becoming a Divine Enlightened Human.

Violet

What are some tips to help balance your Sahasrara?

Physical: Eat violet/white fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of water.  Violet whole foods tend to contain essential phyto-chemicals and fatty acids which are beneficial for the cerebral cortex, pineal glad, hypothalamus and upper brain function, as well as the lymphatic system and White foods are often rich in sulfur and quercetin, which may reduce the risk of cancer and help the body get rid of cancer-causing chemicals. Buckwheat, Cauliflower, Chermoya, Coconut , Garlic, Quinoa, Shallot, Sunflower Seeds, Tofu, Turnip, White beans, White Corn, White Eggplant, White Onions, Basil Flowers, Black Tomatoes, Dulse (seaweed), Elderberries, Kohlrabi , Lavender, Marjoram, Mint Flowers, Mulberries, Passionflower, Passionfruit, Purple Cabbage , Purple Eggplant, Purple Grapes, Purple Green Beans, Purple Peppers, Purple Plums, Rosemary Flowers, Sage Flowers, and Thyme Flowers  all have Sahasrara energy in their colour. Get a cranial sacral massage. Inversions like, Head Balance (Sirsasana); Waterfall or legs up wall (Viparita Karani); Full Arm Balance (Adho Mukha Virasana), Mountain (Tadasana); and Lotus (Padmasana) all do wonders for the Crown.

Mental: Read spiritual/quantum psychics books about the Universe. Whatever will give you insight into the meaning of life, and cosmos, go with it. Read: “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coehlo, “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle, or “The Spiral Dance” by Starhawk. You could even look into watching the PBS Channel series “The Cosmos.”

Emotional: Help others for the sake of helping others alone. You will find that this brings you great joy just by seeing a smile on someone else’s face.

Sexual/Spiritual:  Let go of ego, and Pray/Meditate upon an violet/white mandala, talk with your inner guides about what has happened, and what lessons are to be learned to change your patterns of behaviour.

Environmental: Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils of Frankincense, Vetiver, and Myrrh, are especially effective. Surround yourself with violet or white light. Colour therapy works!  Wear a violet/white tee shirt, sweater or dress. Put up a picture or white painting. Change your sheets. Change your phone cover or background. Paint a wall/room a nice soothing violet or white to promote relaxation.

Again, by embracing these, we awaken our inner visionaries, and embrace our power and strength. To do so takes great courage, and we should all applaud our efforts at transformation and coming into our own in our own good and healthy time.

Finding Your Flow Day 13: Activating Wisdom

Lilac

Journal: Saturday. Sunrise: 5:55 am EST. Albany, NY 58° F. Sunset: 7:49 pm EST. Ajna. आज्ञा. Third Eye Chakra. Centering thought: “My inner vision wisely guides my actions.” || Mantra: Om Hakini Namah. “I activate my intuition.”

Today, we were asked to spend time trusting our inner guidance. Pick any situation you know the right thing to do. Feel how easy and natural this is. When you really know what you know. Then consider a situation where you doubt and don’t know what to do. Instead of evaluating logically, feel your way towards the right choice, towards that state of mind when you do know. Reach this state by letting go of the problem, and quietly going inside, when you feel an answer coming, trust it. This is how we awaken our Ajna, our third eye chakra.

It is not uncommon to believe that intuition is an extraordinary ability, or that wisdom only comes to elders with a keen sense of insight and experience. We may even consider those who demonstrate they are in tune with the flow of inner wisdom to be magical or to possess special healing powers. The truth is, our real Self is wise and intuitive right now, in this very moment. Knowingness is the nature of pure consciousness. By activating this innate knowledge and insight, we can use it as a trusted guide.

Intuition comes alive when we listen deeply. Today in the stillness of meditation as we quietly listen, we awaken and invite a powerful shift into our lives. The fog of confusion begins to clear, we can see where we are going, and discover our true purpose. It is easier to make decisions when we have comprehensive vision—when we can trust ourselves and the universe. Our meditation today will align us with this ever-present source, lighting our path each step of the way.

“Intuition is a sense of knowing how to act spontaneously without needing to know why.”  —Sylvia Clare

The Brow or Third Eye chakra carries the energy of Clear Seeing and Discernment. It is located in the center of the head in between the physical eyes. This chakra opens the door to our multidimensional senses helping us to move away from the dense limitations of an egoic, materialistic, physical world based on illusion. Once our spiritual eye begins to open, deeper spiritual truths will resonate with us and the veil of illusion will begin to deteriorate. An open spiritual eye reveals the truth of reality. Without it, empowered spiritual discernment is not possible!

A large portion of the planet has a blocked Brow Chakra. Humanity is very materialistic and is focused strictly on the physical world and what the physical world can provide for them. Because their spiritual eye is closed, people are unable to recognize their divinity. They fall into the egos trap of lack and disempowerment and try to fill their void with material gains, at the expense of others, while their soul is desperate for the spiritual wealth and nourishment only their God self can provide.

Most of Humanity only believes what they see with their physical eyes totally disregarding the spiritual realms. In truth, we don’t even see with our physical eyes, [we see through them]. Science, religion and education have stifled our imaginations. We have placed ourselves, [The Divine] and everything else in a tight, neat little box literally blocking the energies of our higher, intuitive senses. When this occurs, truth and discernment cannot be fully accessed. Therefore, we are easily misled, tricked and lied to. Restrictions in the energies of this chakra keep us from being able to get to the “root” of our problems, create irrational fears and keep us in a state of disconnection and separation from others.

8112311953_5b66487287_b

Balanced Brow Chakra: Soul Realization, Spiritual Awareness, Intuition, Clairvoyance, Imagination, Discernment, Able to Visualize, Able to Manifest, Good Memory, Divine Mind, Wisdom, Inner Knowingness, Perception beyond Duality, Multidimensional Sensory System, Higher Psychic Senses, Sixth Sense, Truth, Vision.

Unbalanced Brow Chakra: Denial, Obsessions, Lack of Imagination, Poor Memory, Insensitive, Hallucinations, Cynical, Overly Detached from the World, Irrational Fears, Lack of Discernment, Illusion, Stuck in 3D, Limited view of Reality.

Trauma to the Brow Chakra: Invalidation of Intuition and Psychic Experiences, Living in a Fear Filled Environment, Rigid / Fear Filled Thought and Belief Systems.

Bodily Symptoms Expressing Blockage: Tension, Headaches, Eye Problems, Ear Nose Throat Disorders, Blockage of Physical and Multidimensional Senses: Touch, Taste, Sight, Hearing and Smell

The third eye chakra is related to the pineal gland, the Seat of the Soul. When it is activated, light coded information from each individuals higher intelligence is downloaded awakening the super conscious mind. Deeper spiritual truths are attained, consciousness is expanded and the ability to overcome the human ego becomes possible. It is the ego that creates the veil between Spirit and man creating spiritual blindness. This veil keeps people from being able to perceive the higher planes of existence and wisdom keeping them in the illusion of the third dimension. Opening of the spiritual eye helps people to “see” the patterns, limited beliefs and limited thinking that needs to be transcended in order to advance the soul.

12550700425_486223b08c_b

How open and allowing we are, will determine the openness of our spiritual eye. It does not have to be fully open in order for us to begin to access spiritual truth and spiritual discernment. If you have made it this far in the book without discarding it, your spiritual eye is already somewhat opened. When it is fully opened and attuned we are able to see and communicate with angels, spirit guides and the ascended masters. The limitations of time and space are transcended and precognition and remote viewing become possible. All of these abilities are our divine birthright. Multidimensional hearing, seeing, feeling and touching can be achieved by anyone willing to develop their higher senses. Did you know your Soul has it’s own unique scent, sound, color and vibration unlike any other being in creation! Some highly attuned souls are actually able to tap into that part of your being. Once we all open ourselves up to our higher senses, advanced powers of discernment will be available and no one will be able to lie to us again.

Unfortunately, religion and the belief in the wrath of God creates a tremendous amount of fear in people keeping them from accessing their already innately divine gifts. In order to open your spiritual eye you will need to integrate your fears and have a strong desire to break free from the illusions you have bought into. Each of us are incredibly expansive multidimensional beings always connected to [Spirit]. The greatest illusion we have ever bought into is the concept of separation from [The Universe] and each other. Once we fully understand and trust that [The Great Spirit] is Love and is always with us, our fears will begin to unravel. Facing our fears and allowing the spiritual eye to open will allow divine energy to flow up into the seventh chakra called the Crown Chakra. Once this occurs, Empowerment, Divine Illumination, God Realization, Oneness, Unity and Bliss become our reality.

What are some tips to help balance your Ajna?

Physical: Eat purple fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of water.  Indigo foods are often good sources of Vitamin K and lycopene. Similar to blue, indigo fruits and vegetables are high in antioxidants and phyto-chemicals which help promote healthy function of the brain, pituitary gland, sinus, vocal cords and the lungs, as well as boosting the immune and respiratory systems. Black Beans, Black Cherries, Black Currants, Black Olives, Black Raspberry, Black Soybeans, Blackberry, Boysenberries, Plums, Prunes, Raisins, Tamari (soy sauce), Vanilla Beans, and Violet Flowers all have Ajna energy in their colour. Get a cranial sacral massage. Child’s pose, Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand), and Ardha Uttanasana(Standing Half Forward Bend) all do wonders for the Third Eye.

Mental: Watch this Ted Talk:

Emotional: Do you have clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, clairscent, clairtangency, clairempathy and/or clairgustance? How does this make you feel? Have there ever been instances where you have intuited the unknowable? Isn’t it exciting?!

Sexual/Spiritual:  Meditate upon an indigo/purple mandala, talk with your inner guides about what has happened, and what lessons are to be learned to change your patterns of behaviour.

Environmental: Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils of Grapefruit, Sandalwood, and Palo Santa, are especially effective. Surround yourself with purple. Colour therapy works!  Wear a purple tee shirt, sweater or dress. Put up a picture or indigo painting. Change your sheets. Change your phone cover or background. Paint a wall/room a nice cozy deep blue to promote relaxation.

Again, by embracing these, we awaken our inner visionaries, and embrace our power and strength. To do so takes great courage, and we should all applaud our efforts at transformation and coming into our own in our own good and healthy time.

Finding Your Flow Day 12: Activating Expression

blue rose

Journal: Fri Day. Sunrise: 5:58 am EST. Albany, NY 58° F. Sunset: 7:49 pm EST. Vishuddha. विशुद्ध. Throat Chakra. Centering thought: “My life energy expresses its truth.” || Mantra: Om Shakini Namah. “I activate my creativity.”

Yesterday, we were asked, “How will you express your truth today? How do you communicate your feelings? Voice the words that need to be said. Speak from the heart, and open up to encouragement, enthusiasm, exuberance, and nourishment. Open yourself up to other people and the world around you.” Words carry so much power. Let them out.

Self-expression is an integral part of spiritual growth—it’s an extension of the way we approach life and look at the world. If we experience the world through the filter of anxiety, fear, frustration, and dread, then our expression will also be filtered through those same negative emotions. To create life-affirming expression, we need to observe, acknowledge, and shift these old emotional patterns.

Today during meditation we open the flow of expression and communication by activating the fifth energy center, also known as the throat chakra. During our time together, we will open to our natural state of positive self-expression . . . by doing so we begin to transform our inner reality. When communication comes from your core self—your pure voice—it is simple, kind, understanding, and appreciative. In this flow of expression, you are able to share your true self with the world in thought, speech, and action.

“Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.”  —Martha Graham

186264001_befc1e9d3d_o

The throat chakra holds the energy of communication. It is located in the area between the shoulders and the neck and is developed during the ages of 7-12 years. Not only is the throat chakra used for communication between people but it is also how God and our higher self speaks through us from the higher realms. If this chakra is not functioning properly, not only will our communication with others be difficult but we will also not be receiving clear guidance from our divine self, oftentimes leading us down a difficult path and a hard lesson to learn from. Although there are no mistakes, or wrong paths there are choices that we make that sometimes are not in the highest good for all involved. There are consequences for every choice and there are always lessons to be learned from our lower self choices that are not guided by our higher selves. When our throat chakra is fully opened we will be guided by truth from the higher realms and from our divine essence. We will no longer need to be guided by other people, belief systems, laws or anything that limits us from living our highest potential because we will be fully expressing our divinity in all things we do.

Unfortunately, many of our throat chakras are closed because we live in fear of speaking our truth. We don’t want to voice our feelings and we certainly don’t want to verbalize any kind of information that may provide a different perspective or perhaps go against the already ingrained belief systems of the mass consciousness. In previous lifetimes many of us have been burnt, beaten, imprisoned, rejected, ridiculed and even crucified for speaking our truth and trying to empower our brothers and sisters. Unfortunately, these deeply seated fears of speaking up need to be overcome and we need to be willing to express our divinity and truth without preaching. When we truly remember who we are, our self-image will be reestablished and we will be equipped with the courage and discernment to know how to properly express the energies of our voice with words of love and compassion.

Traumas to the Throat Chakra: Verbal Abuse, Constant Yelling, Families With Addictions, Excessive Criticism, Refusing to Speak, Domination and Control.

Bodily Symptoms Expressing Blockage: Toxic Body, Ear, Nose and Throat Problems, Jaw Problems (TMJ), Thyroid

Communication is the connecting principle that makes life possible. Without communication, nothing can survive. Everything in the Universe is in a constant state of communication. When communication is blocked or ceases to exist, healthy relationship is no longer sustained. In order to survive, the human body must be in a constant state of communication with itself. The heart communicates with the blood, hormones communicate with the cells and brain waves communicate with our muscles and tissues. Communication is the essence of life! Without communication there is no relationship!

Once the lower chakras are cleared and divine energy activates the heart, we begin to transcend our lower, darker chakras and move into the higher, lighter chakras connecting us with our divinity and our God Self. We begin to move out of limitation, boundaries and separation into an understanding of deep inter-connectedness with God and all living things. When the throat chakra is fully opened, balanced and functioning properly it becomes a gateway to the higher planes of the Spiritual realms. Clear communication between God, your higher self, angels and spirit guides becomes possible. It is here where we begin to transcend the confinements of the physical body and are able to tap into the multidimensional depths of our mind and Spirit. We become conscious creators of our life experience and begin to “hear” the thoughts running through our mind that create our reality. Instead of being a victim of our thoughts, we step into an empowered position where we are able to quickly clear negative thinking by replacing it with positive affirmations and intentions. Once the throat chakra is opened, our vibration is raised and we begin to understand that everything is energy including our thoughts and words. Vibrationally, we will begin to resonate with like-minded people, events, activites and beliefs that reflect the vibrational frequency of an open throat chakra.

We will desire and attract positive, truthful, authentic, grounded, open, honest communication in all areas of our life. Once the energies of the throat chakra are cleared, space will be created for divine energy to flow up from the throat chakra into the sixth chakra the Brow or Spiritual Eye Chakra.

Finding Your Flow Day 11: Activating Love

green rose

Journal: Thurs Day. Sunrise: 5:58 am EST. Albany, NY 58° F. Sunset: 7:47 pm EST. Anahata. अनाहत. Heart Chakra. Centering thought: “My life energy is love.” || Mantra: Om Kakini Namah. “I activate my love.”

Today we were asked, what melts your heart? Deepak shared, “to keep the flow of love in your life today, be aware of the different flavours of love in your heart. When you notice them, the flavours of love appreciation, gratitude, enjoyment, affection, romance, and personal attraction. If you appreciate how lovely the bonding is, take a moment to feel it and say to yourself, “this is love.” When you enjoy a phone call with a friend, or love the taste of a delicious lunch, say to yourself, “this is love.”  These aren’t small things, love is gentle by nature, and many experiences are infused with love even though we get in the habit of making love to be a big strong emotion. It can be that too, but feeling gratitude for a kind word is just as loving as a romance. As you begin to notice these flavours of love, your awareness will expand naturally and it becomes easier to make those loving gestures of kindness and compassion that are expressions of your true self. Everything begins in awareness, most especially the universal love that imbues the whole of creation.”

So, my friend, what melts your heart? And how will you show the world? How will you share your love with those in your life today? What gesture will you make? What gestures will you receive? What will you do with your love?

By connecting to our natural expression of compassion, we realize that we are both loved and lovable. The flow of this energy is derived from within us, and isn’t something to be discovered, but actually realized. To realize that we have had it inside of ourselves all along. That we needn’t keep searching for it, because we already have it, and it can never be taken away. This is how we activate our fourth chakra, Anahata.

Last week, we experienced ourselves through the seven primary energy centers of consciousness. This week we have been activating the key energies of our chakras—security, happiness, and power. Today, we continue the journey by activating that part of our life energy that is precious, potent, and can be considered the nectar of our human experience—love. With abundant love flowing from the heart, everything in life is sweeter, brighter, and more enjoyable.

Yesterday, I wrote about the Solar Plexus Chakra, and its energy of strength, self-esteem, and ambition. Tuesday, I wrote about the Sacral Chakra, its energy of happiness, desire, and sacred sexuality. Monday,  I wrote about the Root Chakra, and its energy of protection, and its links to childhood abuse, anxiety, and fear. Today, I will be discussing and delving into the realms of codependence, heartbreak, and unconditional love.

As we activate the chakras, the energy begins to flow freely in its natural state. The movement is not random or blind—it is intelligent and purposeful. It not only clears away the obsolete habits and conditioning in our lives . . . it also structures new patterns of thought and behavior that reflect our infinite potentiality.

Connected

The force of the Anahata in our Hearts allows us to live fully, wholeheartedly, and with warmth. Living your love, expressing that love in whatever language you can, is the essence of living a life worth living, and well, loving.

We spend so much time though searching for it, seeking it out everywhere we look, in whoever we might fancy at the time. We look for it, plead with the heavens to send us someone to love, the last thing we think to do, ironically, is love ourselves first. Some however, have been scorned by love, and have decided to never love again. How is this possible? How is it possible to not love? To not breathe? To not enjoy your life, and appreciate it for what it is worth? No be cold and not allow yourself to show affection, to allow your life to be a romance? This is very sad, yet there are thousands of people out there who walk around without loving themselves, and by ignoring love, considering it a fleeting emotion whose only purpose is to distract us from our work.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself you have built against it.”  —Rumi

And isn’t that the truth? So many of us, myself included, have created barriers. We have used mortar and stone to wall up our hearts inside impenetrable psychic castles. We have closed ourselves off in hopes of not getting hurt, but ultimately, this is the only way we know for certain that what we did have was real, by grieving its loss. By getting hurt. By FEELING something, anything.

This is the reason why so many flee from even the mention of love, because it speaks of the idea of commitment, and we are sad scared little boys and girls. We run away, as fast as we can, or create incredibly complex tests or games because it is easier to look down from our castle garrets, and wait for someone brave enough to climb up our tower and rescue us, but only if they manage the moat of crocodiles and the big vat of tar we just poured down upon them.

How does this make sense? How does this reflect our true states of just loving? Plain and simple. Even if we have been hurt in the past, it is ultimately our decision whether or not we will allow our circumstances to make us jaded, cold, or bitter. We can choose love at any time. We just have to stop being afraid…

7832378108_876b171fe6_b

It takes time to outgrow patterns of behaviour, and especially patterns where heartbreak, loneliness, abandonment, and betrayal dictate how we perceive and interact with the world. We have a fundamental right to fall in love with the world and let love happen. We have a right to embrace our vulnerability and to feel that we are cared for. We have a right to let our hearts shine with gusto! To open out our arms and embrace the world and our love without judgment, or the threat of jealousy.

No one deserves to have their love ripped out of their arms. No one deserves to be the target of a hate crime. No one deserves to be in a relationship that is manipulative and painful, and void of compassion or that lacks consideration for another. No one deserves to be cheated on, ignored, played around with like a toy, or to be taken advantage of. No one deserves to be abused. Physically, psychologically, or sexually.

We all deserve forgiveness. We all deserve a life worth loving. We all deserve to be loved and to love in return. We deserve to love ourselves enough and with as much passion as we would with a romantic partner, because if you cannot love yourself, how can you love another? If you are not kind to yourself, how can you show kindness? If you cannot give your heart and soul to something, why bother?

By embracing these fundamental rights, we awaken our inner kindness, compassion, our inner light and dark, and embrace our vulnerability. To do so takes great courage, and we should all applaud our efforts at transformation and coming into our own in our own good and healthy time.

We all make mistakes. This above all is true. We live, we learn, we fall down, but we get back up. We are all good people, and we are capable of being mean, vengeful, and angry. We all know just what to say to a certain someone when they have hurt us. We all know just what to do in order for them to feel the same amount of pain and drama that they have put us through. We all have this ability, but not everyone has to take that course of action. We all can choose to forgive and not forget. To accept what has happened to us, and learn from the experience. Anger and revenge can only go so far, and then what are you left with? Karma. Big time. You perpetuate the cycle.

Anahata allows us to forgive others and to forgive ourselves. Anahata allows us to be kind and gentle with ourselves, with our pasts, and with our present moments. Anahata is always there for us, whenever we feel alone. She is there to remind us that it always does get better, that everything is a season, and that this too shall pass.

All of our chakras affect each other. When one is happy and healthy, the others begin to harmonize. When one is unbalanced however, it affects them, and can cause dis-ease, and even illness. The heart chakra, is especially important because it provides us with the foundation to balance our lower & upper chakras and channel our energy outward. It is the home of our deep well of unconditional love and is where we can create healthy relationships with ourselves and others.

Sabrina Reber writes that, “the heart chakra is developed between the ages of 4-7 years. When the heart chakra is opened it holds the energy of Peace, Compassion, Unconditional Love, Honesty and Harmony. These energies cannot be fully felt, understood and integrated until the lower and higher chakras are cleared, balanced and activated. The heart chakra is the place of balance between our lower, masculine, dark (human ego) and our higher, feminine, light (God) selves. Our heart chakra is the entryway to our soul and it cannot be fully opened until we integrate the light and dark within us. We each need to accept and understand our dualistic / human / egoic / divine natures in order to reach a place of non-duality and transformation.

It is in our heart chakra where we learn to embrace and love our vulnerabilities, darkness, limitations, hurt and pain so we can transcend the smallness of our human ego and grow towards something greater and more expansive. Our heart is our center, our essence, our spiritual core. Once the heart chakra is fully activated, it will awaken our soul consciousness and the higher chakras bringing our Spirit down into our physical being. Our heart and soul is the bridge to the God Mind where we end duality of matter and Spirit unifying ourselves into a place of connection, wholeness and inner peace. When the heart is fully opened we remember our divinity and allow the love of creation to flow through us. We remember that we are [Divinity] in human form and this recognition of the self also helps us to recognize the divinity in everyone and everything else. In this state, we recognize the interconnectedness in everything!

3127152549_966114fee3_b

Sabrina goes on to say that “because all humans have experienced many lifetimes where love has been withheld, we have an epidemic of wounded hearts that need to be healed. Because of this, we have created energetic shields over our hearts to protect ourselves. We shut down our emotional bodies disconnecting us from our heart centered consciousness and intuition allowing our egoic minds to take over. We closed our hearts and blocked the continuous flow of love from the ecstatic presence of our [Divine] self.  Until the heart chakra is fully opened we will not be able to flow divine energy into our high heart or thymus gland where our divine spark is ignited and our Christ Consciousness is expanded. When this occurs to every person on the planet we will literally create Heaven here on Earth. Once our lower and higher chakras are cleared our divine heart will be activated releasing the need to crucify ourselves or another and we will no longer need to carry the burden of our human egoic cross that creates suffering.”

When our Anahata is balanced, we experience a “oneness with Life, Healing, true forgiveness, and courage. We are honest, and have healthy relationships with healthy boundaries. We live in “balance, have unconditional love, faith, peace, and compassion” for our selves and our fellow man. There is a “harmony, an openness in giving and receiving.” And there is “emotional wisdom, joy, bliss, expansion,” and a need for compassionate “Self Preservation, Self Love, Self Nurturance.”

9112281601_48027bbf72_b

When Anahata is blocked Sabrina explains that there is a “withholding of Love,” and feelings of “separation.” A person who has a damaged Anahata  or who may possess a blockage in this center is “controlling, demanding, antisocial, critical, judgmental,” and might be prone to depression, lack empathy, lack healthy boundaries, and exhibit signs of “codependence, jealousy, and conditional Love.”

You will know someone who has a heart chakra imbalance just by how they make you feel. Are they affectionate? Was their hug wholesome, or brief and awkward? You will be able to tell in yourself, by asking yourself, “do I feel loved? Do I love my Self?” Do you wait around for your lover to call, text, or frequently check to see if they “like” your Facebook posts? Are you always seeking love and find it in all the wrong places? Are you comfortable with being by yourself for extended periods of time? How long can you go without talking with your lover? Does this make you feel sad, or indifferent? If sad, you could be more codependent than you think. If indifferent, you may have to reevaluate whether or not you are truly invested in your relationship.

All of these imbalances are caused by traumas to the Heart Chakra. “Rejection, Abandonment, Betrayal, Physical and Emotional Abuse, Grief, Sexual Abuse, Death of a Loved One, Divorce.” I would go further and say that parents who are cold, distant, and even emotionally not there, can cause deep psychic trauma on a child. Parents who do not show affection to each other or to their children, will find that their progeny will develop the same social dysfunctions as they have. Compact that further by seeking out the idyllic, fantastical version of “what a real family/relationship” should look like, and you will find someone who not only a sappy romantic (like me), but someone who is continuously confused and confounded by the people they date.

This is why it is so important to know your love language, and the one of your mate.

When our Anahata is imbalanced for extended periods of time, Sabrina tells us that it often will build up and create an energy blockage that physically manifest as bodily symptoms such as: “Heart Disorders, Circulatory Dysfunction, Lung Disorders, Tension between Shoulders, and a Weak Immune System.”

When we really stop and sit down and look at this information, the data not only speaks for itself, but you can really understand how people become who and why they are. It doesn’t make it any easier to stomach, but it does open room for compassion and to grow empathy for others. Life can be sad, and difficult, and actions have effects. There is incredible truth here. Sabrina explains it further in this very poetic example of psychoanalysis:

“Many of us have endured difficult soul lessons in this lifetime due to our soul’s desire to clear and heal its residual karma and distorted energy from all previous lifetimes. Because of this, many of us have experienced great pain and disharmony. Once we understand that pain can be used as a catalyst for transformation and every experience that has ever happened to us was created by us for greater soul growth, then we can fully step into a place of complete surrender, acceptance and forgiveness. When we allow our hearts to fully open we create a bridge between our lower chakras and our higher chakras fully stepping into our power becoming heart centered conscious creators of our circumstances. We will no longer need to suffer the consequences of our unconscious creations. Once the heart chakra is cleared and opened, divine energy will continue to move up into the fifth chakra called the Throat Chakra.”

What are some tips to help balance your Anahata?

Physical: Eat green fruits and vegetables, take a shot of Wheatgrass and drink plenty of water. Spinach, Kale, Lettuce, cucumbers, Grapes, Celery, Broccoli, Collard Greens, Green Beans, Spirulina, Green Peppers, Green tomatoes, Peas, and Honey dew Melon, all have Anahata energy in their colour. Be green! Take a walk in nature. Walk mindfully and lead with your heart!

Mental: Watch some romantic comedy movies that make you laugh and cry. Try, “Under the Tuscan Sun,” and then “The Sweetest Thing.” Read “Codependence No More:How to Stop Controlling Others and Start Caring For Yourself” by Melody Beattie.

Emotional: Write down a list of all the things you want in a romantic partner,  even if you are in a relationship. Not how much money, job, or superficial/materialistic things. Just the things that matter about his/her personality. Hobbies. Qualities. Etc. Then circle the ones that your mate does. Then make a list for yourself, all of the things you love. Circle the things that you havn’t done in a long time. Pick one each weekend, and treat yourself. Take yourself on a date!

Sexual/Spiritual: Make love. Meditate upon an yellow mandala, talk with your inner guides about what has happened, and what lessons are to be learned to change your patterns of behaviour. Be love! Give love! Forigive!

Environmental: Be green! Recycle! Indoor plants have so many benefits. Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils of Lavender, Rose, and Spruce are especially effective. Surround yourself with green. Colour therapy works!  Wear a green tee shirt, sweater or dress. Put up a picture or green painting. Change your sheets. Change your phone cover or background. Create a space where you can feel

Again, by embracing these, we awaken our inner visionaries, and embrace our power and strength. To do so takes great courage, and we should all applaud our efforts at transformation and coming into our own in our own good and healthy time.

Finding Your Flow Day 10: Activating Our Self-Esteem & Power

796902356_6b6aeaefb2_b

Journal: Wednes Day. Sunrise 5:59 am EST. Albany, NY 52° F. Sunset: 7:46 pm EST. Manipura. मणिपूर. Solar Plexus Chakra.
Centering thought: “My life energy organizes life effortlessly.” || Mantra: Om Lakini Namah. “I activate my power.”

Today, we were asked to ponder the ways in which we would like to create change in our lives. By Because this is true power is: the ability to wish for change, create change, and flow with change. Deepak asks us to place our intention on the change we wish to see in our worlds/selves. If we feel we don’t deserve power, and hand off our responsibility to others, this is how we build up blocks to this energy. Think about your life and what you can do about it. Notice these these desires for change without judging them. We all have limiting beliefs. When you are confronted with a limit, ponder it, meditate with it, and ask the Universe to help you tap into the flow of your inner strength and watch the limit change and yourself transform.

By connecting to our natural expression of strength, we become power-full, instead of having power-over. The flow of this energy is derived from the infinite power of the cosmos . . . when in balance and used harmoniously, actions and reactions benefit everyone and everything. This is how we activate our third chakra, Manipura.

Last week, we experienced ourselves through the seven primary energy centers of consciousness. This week, we will clear, open, and activate each of our seven chakras, transforming old constrictive patterns into expansive, powerful, and joyful expressions of our true selves.

Yesterday, I wrote about the Sacral Chakra, its energy of happiness, desire, and sacred sexuality. Monday,  I wrote about the Root Chakra, and its energy of protection, and its links to childhood abuse, anxiety, and fear. Today, I will be discussing and delving into the realms of ego, self-esteem, and aggressive authoritarian parenting.

531283792_bf954ffa65_b

The force of the Manipura in our Solar Plexus allows us to be co-creators of our reality here on Earth not only with each other, but with the Earth itself. The ability to create our reality based on our desires for a common purpose: for the betterment of society, for our biosphere, for our planet, and universe is Manipura in its pure and whole state. Granted, we also have the choice to be arrogantly selfish instead of healthily selfish by become domineering, suppressing the needs and wants of others.

The world is in our hands. Our very actions or inactions reflect the level of suffering that surrounds us (even if it is imperceptible). When we see litter on the ground, do we pick it up and recycle it…or leave it for someone else to clean up. Here you can see humanity’s hypocrisy.

So many complain about the world, yet do nothing to actually impact a difference. There are so many bleeding hearts out there, yet there are also so many cold hearts as well. Society has to change as a whole by us changing as individuals. It all has to start somewhere.

Ego isn’t all that bad. It comes in handy, it allows us to function in our conscious world. Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes says that, “ego is initially born into us as potential, and is shaped, developed, and filled up with ideas, values, and duties by the world around us: our parents, our teachers, our culture. And this is as it should be, for it becomes our escort, our armour, and our scout in the outer world. However, if the wildish nature is not allowed to emanate upward through the ego, giving it colour, juice, and instinctive responsiveness, then although the culture may approve of what has been fashioned in this ego, the soul does not, cannot, will not approve such incompleteness of its work. Like all other lonely or hungry things, ego loves the light. It sees light, and the possibility of being close to the soul, and it creeps up to it and steals one of its essential camouflages. Ego cannot help itself. It is what it is; attracted to the light. But a mundane function of the ego is that it exists so that we can learn the world. To learn how to gain things, how to work, how to differentiate good from not so good. When to move, when to stay put, how to love with other people. It helps us learn the mechanics and machinations of culture, holding a job, holding a baby, taking care of the body, taking care of business…all the things of the outer life.”

However, if we allow greed to cloud our judgement, you can see and understand how our minds find ways to defend manipulation, coercion, torture, genocide, and corruption. By allowing someone’s power to become more “important” than others, by allowing someone’s ideology to permeate peaceful free thinking communities, and to be systematically destroyed, converted, and enslaved; harmony is lost. Life is imbalanced, and our energy is stolen, or allowed to be.

“Oprah said today that, “true power comes from compassion, commitment, vision, strength, and of course, love. Each of us has this power within ourselves.” We all do. We all possess these things, even the bitterest heart can be warmed. Conversely however, we all possess the power to dominate, destroy, and inflict pain and suffering. Even the kindest of hearts can be pushed towards ego-centrism and revenge.

Strength of will, strength of Manipura, allows us to stay in balance with ourselves and others.

However, how is it then that we allow our power, our vital energy to be taken? To be stolen? Where does it all begin? How do we allow our wills to be broken? Our value within ourselves to be reduced, to be shamed, and to be self deprecating? There is a saying that everyone has a breaking point and weakness. Yet there is also a saying that there is a light inside of us always, and we can reclaim our power, if we only muster the courage to reach out and take it back.

“All the powers in the universe are already ours.”  —Swami Vivekananda

13455141803_ef047cef0f_b

It takes time to outgrow patterns of behaviour, and especially patterns where victimization, self deprecation, jealousy, and negative self talk dictate how we perceive and interact with the world. We have a fundamental right to create the life we wish to live. We have a fundamental right to live peacefully, creatively, and in harmony with each other. We have a right to be playful and spontaneous. We have a right to a healthy Self-Esteem!

No one deserves to be bullied or pushed around. No one deserves to have their voice, their soul, their wants and needs be ignored or abused. No one deserves to be subservient, and no one deserves an authoritarian government, or parents.  People deserve to have an opinion, even if it is an unintelligent or ignorant one because with time, understanding, and learning, anyone’s opinions can change for the better. People deserve warmth, emotional and physical nourishment. People deserve care and unconditional love to be given and received. We have a fundamental right to explore and act independently, so they we can really learn how to set our own limits and personal standards. A society wherein abuse, systematic conditioning, and exploitation is the norm is not a society to be lived in; and a society where citizens cannot come together for a common good and transform their world for the better is a sad one indeed.

By embracing these fundamental rights, we awaken our inner power, wildish spirit, and voices, and embrace our creativity. To do so takes great courage, and we should all applaud our efforts at transformation and coming into our own in our own good and healthy time.

13742143373_127a2c7b67_b

All of our chakras affect each other. When one is happy and healthy, the others begin to harmonize. When one is unbalanced however, it affects them, and can cause dis-ease, and even illness. The solar plexus chakra, is especially important because it provides us with the foundation to express our individuality and inner strength. It is the home of our deep well of courage and is where we can set healthy personal boundaries.

Sabrina Reber writes that Manipura is, “developed between the ages of 18 months to 4 years old. It is here where our sympathetic nervous system is vitalized and our metabolism and digestive processes occur. When our solar plexus is balanced we allow our balanced emotions (sacral) to create a positive life experience fully empowered (solar plexus) to create the life of our dreams (root). We are powerful, full of life, supportive and hold all life with a loving embrace.”

When our Manipura is balanced, our “Divine Will Manifests in Physical Reality, we have Self-control, we are Able to Meet Challenges, and be Responsible. We possess Transformative, Personal Power, and have a Healthy Self Esteem, and a Warm Personality. We become Playful and Spontaneous, and Humorous. We become A Leader not a Follower, and are Able to Speak our Truth and Set Boundaries.”

1115248583_eb1bfd3eb8_b

When Manipura is blocked, we feel helpless, ashamed, belittled, and feel that our opinion has no meaning. We associate obedience and success with love, we may act aggressive, or even fearful or overly shy and  passive around others who are easily manipulated due to a low self-esteem and as a result are incapable or find it incredibly difficult to create social ties with others. This then creates quite a paradox of personality and patterns of behaviour including: attention on power and recognition, domineering behaviour, anger, arrogance, rage, the need to always be right, an inability to slow down, workaholicism and an overly competitive nature. This of course then creates an addiction to either sedatives OR stimulants” depending on the individual.

All of this is caused by traumas to the solar plexus, Authoritarianism, especially authoritarian parenting where there were excessive and unrealistic responsibilities thrust upon you as a child, and even being a victim of domineering or manipulative relationships, shaming, physical and/or emotional abuse.”

When our Manipura is imbalanced for extended periods of time, it often will build up and create an energy blockage that physically manifest as bodily symptoms such as: “Digestive Disorders, Ulcers, Blood Sugar Problems, Chronic Fatigue, Hypertension, Liver Problems, Gall Bladder Problems.” Sabrina states that “when this chakra is distorted, the ego is in control. We literally push the divine out by creating blocks within our system keeping our deeper self energies and highest source of wisdom and knowledge from guiding us. Our egoic, human personality takes over and thinks it’s the boss leading to all sorts of distortions greatly affecting everything in our path.”

10455602106_956510e507_b

When we really stop and sit down and look at this information, the data not only speaks for itself, but you can really understand how people become who and why they are. It doesn’t make it any easier to stomach, but it does open room for compassion and to grow empathy for our species. Life can be sad, and difficult, and actions have effects. There is incredible truth here. Sabrina explains it further in this very poetic example of psychoanalysis:

“Because all of our chakras work together if one is out of balance it will affect the others. If our root and sacral are out of balance then our solar plexus will also be affected creating aggressive behaviors. The need to dominate and control others (solar plexus), greed and war become the norm when we are not grounded and connected to the Earth (root) and we have denied our powerful sexual energies and emotions (sacral). Energy never dies; it is in a constant state of movement. This distorted excess energy moves through our system putting the solar plexus in overdrive. Peace becomes impossible and an insatiable desire to control others surfaces. Tremendous imbalance occurs between the aggressors and those who have depleted solar plexus energies. People become enslaved in a system dominated by masculine aggressive energies unable to tap into their own innate power creating a viscous cycle of disempowerment and control. That’s why our planet reflects chaos, turmoil, illness and separation because our lower chakras are either blocked or overactive keeping us from moving divine energy up into our heart chakra activating the truth of our being.”

Many of us use our power incorrectly. We are either powerless and don’t believe in ourselves or we use our power to dominate and control others. Oftentimes, we give our power away to families, friends, churches, governments, and doctors because we don’t want to accept responsibility for ourselves and make the changes necessary to transcend everything holding us back from reaching our highest soul’s potential. We falsely believe it is easier to allow others to figure everything out for us, telling us what to do, rather than relying on our own abilities and intuitive wisdom from our inner being. Giving our power away or desiring to control others is detrimental to our solar plexus chakra.

Many people blocked in this chakra have bought into the belief that they are separate from God and are helpless victims of their circumstances. They block energy from flowing freely keeping them from aligning with their divine self, the true source of their power. They don’t realize they are the creators of their reality and have the power to choose at anytime to make different choices to create a better life for themselves. This creates anger and frustration blocking divine energy from moving up into the fourth chakra, the Heart Chakra.

What are some tips to help balance your Manipura?

Physical: Eat yellow fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water. Anise Seed, Bamboo Shoots, Bananas, Chamomile, Corn, Dairy, Cheese, Yogurt, Evening Primrose Flowers, Garbanzo beans, Golden Apples, GoldeRaisins, Honey, Lemongrass, Lemons, Pears, Pineapple, Yams, Yellow Marigold Flowers, Yellow Peppers, Yellow Summer Squash, Yellow Zucchini all have Manipura energy in their colour. Take a colonic! Sunbathe! The yoga postures of The Bow or the Pike Pose are very helpful to open, clear, and energize your third chakra.

Mental: Watch some of your favourite movies, especially those that inspire you to reclaim your power. Try, “Fried Green Tomatoes.” Read “Your Power to Create You” by Glenn E. Kakely and/or Chapter 9 Homing: Returning to OneSelf in “Women Who Run With the Wolves.”

Emotional: Dare to be yourself, dare to make decisions and face challenges. Ask yourself what kind of life do you want to live? Create it! If you’re angry, punch a pillow, take a bat to a mattress, go running, paint, yell, scream, sing, let it out! Let out your frustrations in a healthy way. If you’re meek, get angry. And do the before mentioned tips. Reclaim your power, and refuse to let go. Stand up for yourself. If you’re in an abusive relationship. Leave right now. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Sexual/Spiritual: There’s no polite way to put this: masturbate! Rip off the burqa, hijab, or habit! Burn your bra! Cut your leash! Free yourself! Meditate upon an yellow mandala, talk with your inner guides about what has happened, and what lessons are to be learned to change your patterns of behaviour. Ask for help, but then act!

Environmental: Therapeutic-grade Essential Oils of Juniper, Vetiver, and Geranium are especially effective. Surround yourself with yellow. Colour therapy works!  Wear a orange tee shirt, sweater or dress. Put up a picture or orange painting. Change your sheets. Change your phone cover or background. Create a space where you can feel your unique personality shines through.

“Like” for New Moon in Taurus Reiki: Blessings of Rebirth

7107118693_6a24114c6d_b

And…we’re back with a double whammy! April 29th, at 11pm EST. The Day of a Total Solar Eclipse and New Moon!

Every New Moon is a chance for a symbolic and real rebirth. This month, it’s in Taurus, so seeds of the new are planted in fertile soil. Taurus is an earth sign that reminds us of “our place in the natural order of life, and is a mover and shaper of the tangible.”

Some ideas for intentions during a Taurus New Moon are:

  • Breaking goals down into do-able steps, or establishing a realistic path to your dreams.
  • Bringing more sensual pleasure into your life.
  • Finding ways to bring your inner wealth out into the world.
  • Cultivating abundance through self-sufficiency, dogged effort, and using ALL of your available resources.
  • Enjoying a Sense of Place where you live, by seeking out what’s native, seasonal, embedded in the landscape.
  • Rethinking your patterns of behaviour.
  • Reflecting upon your own true personality, your self-image and personal style. Are you reflecting your authentic true self? Is there a different “you” around others? Or do you let all that what you are shine?
  • Reinvent yourself. Make any necessary changes to declare, “this is me!”

Taurus energy doesn’t favor just glossy cosmetic changes … it’s really about feeling good about your yourself, about the image you project, how you walk, talk, what sort of eye contact you make. If all your desires had all come true and your were living the HAPPIEST, most ABUNDANT life of your dreams … do you think your would look or feel different? That’s really the test of how deep your intention to transform could be during this New Moon period. If you’re already holding your head high, feeling at your most physically beautiful and strong self, grounded and connected… then you’re good…and you need only wish for more of it. If there’s a little room for improvement, this is the time to “act as if” you already have that job, that money, that relationship, that perfectly zen spiritual life and infinite well being … how would you look, what would you project, how would you feel then? (1)

The Sun and Moon aligned in Taurus gives us all a window into the soul of things, dirt, the material, the body. At the New Moon, the “psychic senses are heightened as well; in Taurus we can tune in to intuitive visions about how to grow what we’ve got, within and without, into all we need. We can initiate plans that require us to dig deep into what’s rich and substantial in ourselves, and make something out of it.”

So, what new beginnings are you hoping to cultivate and grow? What projects will you begin? What intentions will you make?

These moments of deep soul questioning force us to look at our truest desires. Every new cycle offers us a new beginning, just as is every new sunrise. Every day, every night offers you immense potential for transformation.

I hope you will join us on the 29th! Again, as with all Reiki meditations, all you have to do is be open to the energy flow of health, harmony, and bliss. You don’t have to meditate, but if you choose to, all the better! You don’t have to do anything. You don’t even have to be awake. Just know that by making your intentions and acting upon them will manifest pure happiness, pure mindfulness, and pure compassion for yourself and others. When we follow our heart, when we follow our dreams, the universe reaches out to meet us.

“Remember, aim for the moon; even if you miss, you’ll land amongst the stars.”

Sometimes we miss, and that is okay. We make intentions, but for whatever reason, we fail. It isn’t always fair, but it is life. But at least you will have tried. A life is not worth living by simply waiting for things to happen. Try a go at it. Try and try again. Keep reaching. Don’t give up! Set a new goal. What’s the worst that could happen? You may just get there…

Life takes great courage, and we should all applaud our efforts at transformation and coming into our own in our own good and healthy time.

Namaste my friends.

Happy New Beginnings and Happy New Moon…
