This week we will continue our journey of miraculous relationships by expanding our experience of love, equanimity, joy, compassion, and other divine qualities of spirit. Today our meditation will focus on choosing to be the presence of love.
Many people think of love as an emotion that comes and goes. In one moment we feel intense love and in the next we feel nothing at all. We may then become consumed by doubts about our relationships or we get caught up in an anxious search for love, striving to attract someone who will finally give us the love and approval we’ve longed for. As we’ve explored, love isn’t a capricious emotion but a state of being. It is an experience of unity with all creation. In every moment we can choose to be the presence of love and let that love guide all our words and actions. This choice will transform all of your relationships, including the one with yourself.
Our centering thought for today is:
“I love and am loved unconditionally.”
Our Sanskrit mantra for today is:
“Om Vardaham Namah.” I nourish the universe, and the universe nourishes me.
An essential part of learning to love yourself is to focus on being fully present and accepting of your current experience. Today take time to become more conscious of what your emotions are and how they feel in your body. Just be with your feelings with the awareness that whatever you are feeling is okay exactly as it is. This supportive gesture is like hugging and holding yourself in a loving and nurturing embrace—a practice that helps you metabolize your present experiences, promotes healing of old emotional pain, cultivates trust in yourself, and strengthens your ability to give yourself compassion and kindness. – Deepak & Oprah
Beginning week 2, there is a shift in my awareness about my Self. Now, instead of preparing to co-creating love-filled relationships, I will be focusing on creating them with a kind, open, and generous heart. How does it feel eating and breathing love?
A few words come to mind: golden, warm, embraceable like a hug. There is nothing more important in the world than love. Today, Deepak asked us how do we create a life overflowing with love? By embodying our essential truth, loving ourselves, remembering we are loved and lovable. Let love whisper to you. Let it guide you.
We were all originally born with this gift of innate love. TO be loved and lovable. Then something happened. We grew up, some of us forgot how. We got our hearts broken. Now, to attract love we must first love ourselves.
Our age does not matter. Our gender does not matter. Our weight does not matter. Our politics do not matter. Our job does not matter. Our status or station does not matter. We are all loved, and lovable.
We can share this love with everyone else in our lives, regardless of beliefs, and regardless of their age, gender, weight, politics, job, status, or station.
We are now in a place of remembering and knowing that we are all connected. This means it is and will be easier to accept others for who they are: loving and lovable.
Act with love through your spirit. Through the divine spirit. It will be effortless.
