The ability to find calm in the midst of a storm is a quality very few can stomach.
Being in the medical field you really have to have the patience to heal when others are most vulnerable and sometimes down right hysterical.
But being or not being in the healthcare field, everyone should take measures to be able to handle basic emergency situations.
Take a few courses, as a bare minimum at least keep up your First aid, CPR, and AED.
Crisis intervention and prevention. Natural disasters, fires, and family emergencies? There should be some sort of plan. Inform yourself and your family.
Preparing won’t make the situation any less scarey, but the foresight and expectation will be able to ground you in any instance and give you the courage to face whatever may come.
If you have harvested the supplies, and have a fruitful knowledge base, you will be able to not only face anything, but will become a healing force for yourself, your family, and community.
