Week 8 Challenge: Sing in the Rain!

(c) Snapped my Derek

Wow! Do you hear that?

The rain is falling so fiercely!

Mmm, I love SMELLING, FEELING, & LISTENING to the drops hitting outside. The way it makes my hair stand on end, how the drops feel like they cling to my very breath. It TASTES divine…

This week was a crazy week I’ll tell ya what! Even though I was gimpy, I still managed to HEAL rather quickly.

  • Cleaning, cleasing, and readying the house on Sunday. (Good workout!)
  • Three laprascopic procedures & pain killers on Monday. (Ouch!)
  • Tea-time with Robins and rose buds in the garden on Tuesday. (ONLY Me…lol)
  • Made fresh baked Zucchinni Bread for Lammas & gazed at the Full Moon on Wednesday. (A TON of effort went into that bread, I’ll tell ya)
  • Random Act of Kindness: I saved a bee from my window on Thursday. (It had the SADDEST  eyes)
  • Journal musings & watercolours on Friday. (FUN!)
  • Hiking the Christman Sanctuary in Delanson, NY yesterday. (OOF! But BEAUTIFUL & breathtaking…literally. Ha!)

This week was filled with ice creme, friends, and books. Hikes, Olympics, and song.  The Christmas Sanctuary was a beautiful end to such a tiresome week! The waters there move as if spirited. Pools reflect sunlight, the air smells like a mixture of “pine and sunscreen,” as one of my friends put it. And the cliffs…well they were too good a challenge to pass up. They were the perfect spot to cliff dive! It was a truly marvelous find!

I finished Gary Chapman’s Five Love Languages (which, I wasn’t so thrilled about, but is insightful) and am currently reading Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Wherever You Go, There You Are: Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life.

I would like to share an excerpt from the Introduction, maybe IT sings to YOU?

Guess what? When it comes right down to it, wherever you go, there you are. Whatever you wind up doing, that’s what you’ve wound up doing. Whatever you are thinking right now, that’s what’s on your mind. Whatever has happened to you, it has already happened. The important question is, how are you going to handle it? In other words, “Now what?” Like it or not, this moment is all we really have to work with. yet we all too easily conduct our lives as if forgetting momentarily that we are here, where we already are, and that we are in what we are already in. In every moment, we find ourselves at the crossroad of here and now. But when the cloud of forgetfulness over where we are now sets in, in that very moment we get lost. “Now what?” becomes a real problem. To allow ourselves to be truly in touch with where we already are, no matter where that is, we have got to pause in our experience long enough to let the present moment sink in; long enough to actually feel the present moment, to see it in its fullness, to hold it in awareness and thereby come to know and understand it better. Only then can we accept the truth of this moment in our life, learn from it, and move on.

Mmm, so dearies, how will you reflect today, on your week past?

How will you incorporate last week’s challenge in your daily life? I would love to hear! Feel free to comment below! Your words are powerful & inspire ME!

This week, I challenge you to “sing in the rain,” whether it’s outside, in the shower, or under a waterfall. Have a little fun! The summer may be coming to a close soon, but it’s not gone yet! ;-p

Sunday’s Affirmation: “I sing my heart’s song, my heart’s beat, my heart’s song. ”

Monday’s Affirmation: “My words will be true. My acts will be true. My heart will be true.

Tuesday’s Affirmation: “When I hear music, I am transformed. Transmorphified. Transmutated into a higher being listening to the dynamic range of life; Transubstantiated into wine, into the ethereal pitches of bramble fruit? Cocoa? Oak? Violets. When I hear music, I am changed. I am made warm. My soul sings. Yes- I am changed, changed for good.”

Wednesday’s Affirmation: “Screw the impossible! I make Life possible! Anything is possible!”

Thursday’s Affirmation: “I am cenesthetic to the converse logic that this life is indeed Surreal.”

Friday’s Affirmation: “Today, I wait. I wait for my Inner Voice to shine through and guide me on my day.”

Saturday’s Affirmation: “I am fricken AMAZING! Today. I WILL DISCOVER!

I wish you well on your Journeys this week! I hope you can allow yourself some time to SING!

Namaste.
